We manufacture energy-efficient products

We manufacture energy-efficient products; our flagship product is insulating glass, which reduces energy use in the home by up to 30-50%.

The three-layered glass structure of the SZILTHERM range offers excellent thermal insulation (Ug= 0.5 W/m²K) and sound insulation properties, and helps to maximise the use of natural light. This saves property owners considerable ammounts of money per year, creating a sustainable and healthy living environment.

We operate an innovative water management system

Our plant draws water from a licensed borehole, which is made potable by a reverse osmosis water purification system, and we have built our own biological wastewater treatment system for the treatment and purification of wastewater. The purified wastewater is continuously monitored by an accredited laboratory and is harmless to the environment.

Our waste management policy prioritises waste prevention, reduction, reuse and recycling in line with the European Commission's Circular Economy package of proposals.

We aim to minimise waste

Our production planning optimises the glass sheets to minimise waste, and the remaining glass sheets are sent back for re-cutting using an automated system.

We recycle almost everything

We selectively collect glass scrap and recycle it into raw materials with the help of our waste management partner, and last year we recycled nearly 4.2 million kg of glass waste. We also collect more than 11 types of waste separately, resulting in a recycling rate of over 98%.

We work in a green office

Our environmental policy is to develop and manufacture glass products using natural resources economically and minimalise the impact on the environment. Our company is committed to the continuous improvement of the MSZ EN ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system.

Our office and hall buildings are built with excellent thermal insulation, with translucent roof-lighting domes that eliminate the need for artificial light in sunny weather. The office building has a modern, energy-efficient cooling-heating-air management system, monitored by sensors and a computer, ensuring a temperature of 22-24 degrees and multiple daily ventilations.

The open office structure provides a uniformed heat sensation and even temperatures. The production hall is heated in cool weather by recycling waste heat from the machines, which is energy efficient. Our electronic business management system saves more than 3.5 tonnes of paper per year, reducing the environmental impact.

We have installed a solar farm

Our 25,000 m² solar farm generates around 1.7 megawatt hours of energy per day, which provides one third of our factory's energy needs. The system, with its annual electricity production, could cover the annual consumption of up to 800 average households and saves around 1,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. That's as much carbon dioxide as 60,000 trees can sequester in a year.
